Ice Climbing Course - Kyrgyzstan (Ak Sai Glacier)

OVERVIEW

Escape the heat and jump from 50 degrees to subzero with a trip to a glacier in Kyrgyzstan. 4 days of ice climbing learning the basics of ice rope work, progression, tools, crevassse rescue, descending and belaying.

Our four-day ice course offers a unique opportunity to challenge yourself in a stunningly beautiful and remote part of the world. You'll learn essential mountaneering skills from experienced instructors and explore some of the most breathtaking landscaper you've ever seen.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced climber, this trip is for you! Led by a certified instructor, you'll explore Ak-Sai glacier and receive expert guidance every step of the way.

Our journey will take us to some of the most stunning places in Kyrgyzstan, where you'll marvel at the natural beauty in a truly unique and thrilling environment.

We'll begin our adventure in Bishkek, from where we will be transfer to Ala-Archa Park to start the adventure.

ALA ARCHA National Park

The Ala-Archa Nature Park is an alpine national park in the Tian Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan, located approximately 35 km south of the capital city of Bishkek. The altitude ranges from about 1,500 meters at the entrance to a maximum of 4,895 meters at Semenov-Tian-Shansky Peak, the highest peak in the Kyrgyz Ala-Too Range of the Tian Shan.

PROGRAM

Day 1 (31 Aug) - Pick up and trekking

The guide will pick you up Manas airport (if you chose the night flight below) or to your hotel in Bishek (if you arrive earlier) to be transferred to our destination, to Ala-Archa at an altitude of 2200 meters. After breakfast we will start the 5 hours aclimatization trek to Ratsek hut at 3300 meter where we will chill and enjoy to be ready for the next day.

Day 2 - Ice Training

Ice training

We start the action! We will learn how to exit on the glacier, moving on ice, self arrest organizing stations, and ice climbing. Also self-rescue from cracks. In the evening, we will talk about various ways to rescue victims in the mountains.

Day 3 - Summit Day

We will hike to the beautiful Uchitel peak (4560 meters) where we will enjoy the scenery

Day 4: A bit more ice training and come back home

We will have crevasse rescue training in the morning. After lunch we will be transfered to Bishek for dinner and rest before an early flight back to Dubai. 

Acomodation: double room hotel in Bishkek

Day 5 (4 Sep) - Fly back to Dubai

If yuou choose to stay longer in Bishek, you can enjoy some freetime in the town to explore it before the flight leaves direction home!

ACCOMODATION

We will spend 3 nights at Ratsek Hut, a common base camp for attempts on the many peaks that surround the Ak-Sai Glacier area. It is a basic but convenient place for our training surrounded  by amazing scenery. 

We will spend the last night in a double room hotel in Bishkek
