Self-Rescue Training for Climbing and Canyoneering
Sun, 14 Jan
|Ras Al-Khaimah
It’s fine when it’s all going well, but what happens when the unexpected happens? Our practical and progressive one day Self-Rescue course offers climbers an essential ‘get out of that’ toolkit for their vertical adventures.
Time & Location
14 Jan 2024, 07:00 – 17:00
Ras Al-Khaimah, Jebel Jais Rd - Ras al Khaimah - United Arab Emirates
About the Event
The self-rescue training is aimed at teaching the fundamental self-rescue techniques and manoeuvres necessary in case a harmful event jeopardizes the rope team safety or an accident happens to the lead climber or the belayer.
Would you know what to do if your partner fell and injured themselves half way up a multi-pitch route? What if you were abseiling and found you had to get past a knot in your rope? There are endless situations where climbers may need to overcome a problem. This course is your ‘get out of that’ skills package.
Over a full day of low ratio instruction we develop a ‘toolbox’ of key techniques. We also spend time looking at how to avoid common problems occurring in the first place. The focus is always on simple solutions and everything is done at your own pace and with a progressive approach. You’ll also have plenty of practice time. One day you may be very glad you took the time to prepare for the unexpected!
