Kids Rock climbing & canyon hike

Join UAE Rock Climbing certified instructors on a kids and parents rock climbing session. A collaboration between Adventure Quest and Hikes and Bites, for a fun family Climb and Hike in Ras al Khaimah mountains, an hike-and-seek themed trek and to max all the fun, lunch outdoors in this beautiful weather combined with artwork activity for the kids.

This event has been designed for children from 7 years old and above, new to outdoor rock climbing to get familiarized with some of the basic equipment and techniques used in the sport. You will have an opportunity to strap on the harness and climb your way up the rocks. If you are new to the sport or looking to get back into it after an extended break this would be a great trip for you.

PROGRAM

We meet on a shared point in the RAK mountains (shared to the participants before the event starts), and after a safety briefing we start with the climibing sessions for circa 2 hours. Followed by a canyon hike close by, then finish our day by an outdoor in nature optional lunch.

The proposed event timing is weather and conditions dependent.

Certified Rock Climbing Instructor for the whole day and necesary gear for the activity.

TRANSPORTATION 

You need to reach the start location with your own car.

If you don't have a car, there will always be people joining from Dubai or Abu Dhabi and they can car pool you.

WHAT TO BRING

You will need to bring lunch, snacks, water, drinks, etc for the day. You should also dress appropriately for being outdoors whether you prefer long sleeve, short sleeve shirts, shorts/pants, is your own preference but definitely have a jacket and maybe wool hat and gloves in case it gets cold or rains. We still will climb if cold and even if rain is not too much. Also bring appropriate sun protection, i.e. sunscreen, lip balm, sun hat, sunglasses.

You should have sturdy shoes for walking in the wadi to the crag but you may want sandals or flip flops while hanging around at the crag in between climbs. I also recommend to bring a camping chair so you can sit and relax when not climbing or belaying.

If you have climbing shoes, harness, helmet please bring them. If you don't have climbing shoes then plan to wear solid sneakers or hiking shoes. weak/flimsy shoes will be no good and neither will big, bulky hiking boots. If you don't have a harness or helmet I will have extras on hand. All other gear and equipment will be provided.
