Sunset Hike on Jebel Jais Samar Trail

Want a perfect little challenging hike to get you started for the hiking season in UAE?! Samar trial sets at the bottom of Mount Jais, the highest mountains in UAE.

The hiking route is suitable for anyone who is sports active. We will come across some beautiful rock formations, old settlements, some beautiful Sidr trees and Acacias, many goats and scenic mountain views overlooking the lower part of Mount Jais. The Village at Summit point is nice and with functional farms and lots of goats/donkeys around.

ROUTE

6 km trail

Trek involves soft ascent/descent, only a short bit of loose rocks, no deep or dangerous cliffs. No water or technical climbing.

3 hours total time with breaks

WHAT TO BRING

1. Backpack
2. 3-4 liters of water
3. Snacks (oranges, apple, dates, protein bar), electrolytes, sandwiches
4. Hiking boots or trainer with good grip sole
5. Hiking pants, tights, shorts, dry fit t-shirt, small towel
6. Wipes, sunscreen lotion and sanitizer
7. Hat and sunglass
8. Hiking poles (optional)
9. Personal basic Aid kit (Advil, band-aid, antiseptic, etc)
10. Extra shirt, towel, flip-flops (for after the hike)
