Wadi Showka - Dam and Pools loop - sunset hike

One of our favorite wadi, which is so close to Dubai, only less than an hour away! Good training ground if you want to explore more mountains in UAE.

Great Panoramic spots. Hike through canyon and up the hills in a loop hike around the large water pools. Water should be at a good height for us to jump and splash and cool off during the hike!

ROUTE

Starting at the dam, we will reach the top of the mountain using a staircase and then go down the hills until we reach the beautiful Showka wadi to then continue to the Shawka pools.  We will explore the full wadi to come back out on the other end of the wadi in a full loop back to the dam.

Circa 7 km trail.

Elevation gain 200m

Total time: 4-5 hours

WHAT TO BRING

1. Small backpack
2. 2-3 liters of water
3. Snacks (oranges, apple, dates, protein bar), electrolytes
4. Trail running shoes (Trainer with good grip sole) or hiking boots
5. Hiking pants, tights, shorts, dryfit t-shirt, small towel
6. Wipes, sunscreen lotion and sanitizer
7. Hat and sunglass
